Shownotes
We are back and frankly we missed being on the air. After me and Peter caught up with each other we just dove right in and started where we left off. I wish I could say more than that but there really isn't much to say other than it's good to be back in the saddle. Below are the links mentioned in the show:

Best podcast ever....
You guys rock! Welcome back, we missed you.
glad your back
Loved the show. Glad to have you back. Looking forward to many more great episodes. Keep up the great work.
same as it ever was
Great to listen to you guys again. I was a little amazed at a couple of the comments criticizing you guys for not communicating more during the hiatus. Maybe the man page minute for next time should be "man hiatus" for those slow of reasoning and quick of temper. Unfortunately, that's me most of the time so I guess I should stop there.
Glad you're back. You guys have a good chemistry and since I can't seem to get in touch with Peter despite his twitter, facebook, cell phone, and other "grid" presences, I guess it also serves a dual purpose to keep in touch with the guy. I supposed I could try email...
You guys are the best.

Errors in Intrepid
Hey,
"This is just one of the myriad ways that you can get a hold of us here at Fresh Ubuntu," you say on your contact page. What would the other ones be, then? You would not happen to be on some IRC somewhere?
I am quite confident, you can submit Ubuntu bug reports about your EEE/Ubuntu problems. Well at least, on my new Toshiba laptop I have the same problems: Wireless refuses to connect after hibernation, and it has a stupidly low maximum volume. Both of these issues are non-issues on the Vista partition.
Btw, I cannot for the life of me get TV-Out or Bluetooth to work.
Further, I have tried to get Skype, Google Earth and ITunes through Wine to work all without a really positive result. Have you had any success with any of those? I must admit, I did not care enough about either to try on the Vista partition.
But a bit of debugging on the wireless issue: It seems more like it is a password problem with the WPA password. After trying to reconnect for a while, it will ask for the password which I then enter (correctly!). However, after I let it retry I can see (through "Show password") that it uses a completely wrong password. My password is not a super-secure one (something like ChristianV123), but after the reconnect, it has gibberish (q123%qw15hjas8346sh62%). I suspect that perhaps the latter is some hashed version, that the password wallet is supplying, but which the network manager is taking as the unhashed password. Makes any sense?
Well, just some rambling and perhaps a pointer towards what the problem is.
Best wishes and good to have you back!

Christian,
Thanks for taking the tiem to write us, it is good to be back and I am pretty sure that I can speak for Peter when I say that. As for the "myriad" ways: not only can you get a hold of us through our contact page link in the menu header, but you can also email each of us through our respective email addresses here at freshubuntu. That is, harlem@freshubuntu.org and peter@freshubuntu.org. Also, you can leave a comment and one of us either me or Peter will respond, and, of course we have been known to be in the #freshubuntu irc channel at times when life isn't getting in the way.
Thanks for the pointers and I will be sure to let Peter know about them. As far as the Skype is concerned I didn't go through WINE to isntall them. I merely added the MEDIBUNTU repos and installed both Skype and Google Earth. But, I must admit, Google Earth didn't work very well:( and I am probably one of the few folks who doesn't use iTunes often enough to justify installing it on Ubuntu, perhaps one of the reasons why I still dual boot. On the other hand, one of the WINE developers/maintainers lurks in our irc everynow and again and is a great guy and is often willing to help (don't you love open source??).
I must agree again with you that tv-out, bluetooth, suspend and hibernate, are all HUGE issues and in this day and age should be given the same amount of attention as Large Hadron Collider. Not to say that it isn't but you never know what the priorities are. Unfortunately, I am not as skilled or as sophisticated enough to solve these issues on my own. I am a victim of my own newb-ness:(

Hey again,
That was #freshununtu on freenode I didn't know about.
I will try and catch you there one day.
Cheers,

Welcome back
Welcome back,
We missed you. I have been following you and Peter and Twitter, so didn't feel the completely lack of communication some trolls mentioned.
Did not have an enjoyable upgrade to Intrepid. Half-way through the upgrade, the ibex blew away network interfaces and now I can't even access the internet, let alone finish the upgrade. Grrrr.
Anyway, glad you are back!
Welcome back
What a pleasant surprise to hear you both again, glad you are back. And, great podcast too. Keep them coming....can't leave us hanging here. :) I am still on 8.04, 8.10 liveCD worked perfect but as I prefer to do clean installs I am too lazy to move to 8.10, maybe with 9.04. I wish you both and your family a happy Christmas and a better New Year.
Comments on Ubuntu 8.10 problems in WebCast
Just being short on eee issue comments:
a. Sound. Known problem and one I had on my computer also. Fix is to adjust the Pulse Audio settings: Run the Pulse Audio Manager. Click on Devices tab. Under Sources, select the alsa_output... and goto properties. Increase volume to max (400+%). Then close that and goto the GNOME volume control. Right click and select "Open Volume Control" and adjust your sound settings as needed for the setting called ...(Alsa mixer).
b. Network Connection: Known problem for certain wireless cards. Wife's laptop has same issue, however installing WICD from repository should fix problem. It will want to remove your NetworkManager, but let it. That fixed the susspend, resume issue on my wife's and I hope that it fixes her inability to connect to the hidden network at her school.
