UI changes

Canonical has made a major blunder. Even suggesting that they might put controls in the wrong location will put off a huge number of people. Do they really seek 0.1% market share?

Window buttons, I approve

Thanks for the podcast....waiting for that real episode :)

I am one of those who prefer the window buttons on the left. I had already changed it on my Ubuntu Dell netbook last year as it resulted in less mouse travel. This made sense to me. Also getting used to it was no problem as I already had a Mac Mini for a couple of months for my iPod Touch. I now can alternate between the two without even thinking, although I like it on the left better. (But then again, I also alternate using the mouse with left and right hand, and are equally comfortable using either hand. Maybe this helps also.)

I fired up the beta 2 of Ubuntu 10.04 and with the windows buttons on the left and the order was completely natural for me. I hadn't realized the button order had changed before I read that forum thread.

So for me: a big thumbs up.
