Ubuntu Studio 7.04 was finally released yesterday to what seemed like quite a bit of excitement. Ubuntu Studio is a version that focuses on multimedia creation and manipulation with what appears to me as an emphasis on music. I think anyone who enjoys Ubuntu could make Ubuntu Studio their own and anyone who hates Ubuntu might change their minds.

The latest distribution to be endorsed by the Free Software Foundation as a 100% Free Software distribution committed primarily to software freedom is gNewSense. It is based on Ubuntu Dapper and is because of that recognized as the most advanced pure Free Software distro, at least according to the FSF. It is devoid of non-free software, so those who use or need restricted code beware. However, if you are a purist, then this is the distro to choose.
